About Urus Anggun & Blue Star “HENS” Fertilzer
Urus Anggun Sdn Bhd (UASB) uses the advanced technology that was formulated in 1979 and through continuous research, manufactures a variety of BLUE STAR ‘HENS’ fertilizers.
BLUE STAR ‘HENS’ (High Efficiency Nutrient Source) fertilizer is a complex reacted multi-nutrient fertilizer manufactured through an exclusive novel reaction process involving a number of core technologies.
Through continuous research and advanced methods employed, UASB produces superior materials of higher efficiency that are economically viable.
Why Blue Star ‘HENS’ Fertilizer Is Unique
Blue star contains all the Primary, Secondary, Essential and Micro elements (many in chelated form) and others such as humic and fulvic acids that are needed for heallthy growth and high yields. Blue Star also contains slow release elements, do not leach easily and have low chlorine level.
We believe that fertilizer application should not be based on formulation alone but factors such as raw materials employed, solubility, availability, elemental requirement and combination and others must be considered in order to achieve maximum economic yields.
We therefore are of the opinion that a ‘COMPLETE MULTI-NUTRIENT AND WELL BALANCED APPROACH IS THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION TO MAXIMISE CROP YIELD‘.
Just as the capacity of a barrel with staves of unequal lenght is limited by the shortest stave, so a plant’s growth is limited by the nutrient in shortest supply.
LIEBIG’S LAW OF MINIMUM
Liebig’s law of the minimum, states that growth is controlled not by the total amount of resources available, but by the scarcest resource (limiting factor).
It was found that increasing the amount of plentiful nutrients did not increse plant growth. Only by increasing the amount of the limiting nutrient (the one most scarcest in relation to “need”) was the growth of a plant or crop improved.
This principle can be summed up in the aphorism, “The availability of the most abundant nutrient in the soil is only as good as the availability of the least abundant nutrient in the soil.” Or to put it more plainly, “A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.”

Effects of Blue Star In Oil Palm
With the application of Blue Star fertilizer, we have generally seen yield increase of 20% – 30% in oil palms within 2 years of usage; in most cases, yield responses could be noticed as early as 3 to 6 months. This, we believe is positively due to the reduction in bunch failure which usually occurs 1.5 to 3.5 months before harvesting. The high efficiency of applied nutrients and higher photosynthetic activity further contributes to increased bunch weight.
On a long term , with a higher efficiency of the applied nutrients, there is an increase in the vegetative dry matter (VDM) production. This ultimately makes the palm very efficient and with reduced floral abortion that occurs between 9 to 11 months before harvesting, higher yields are eventully achieved.
Palms planted in peat, sandy soils, laterite and other low mineral soil areas have responded very well to our fetilizer and with increased yields in these as well as in the general areas, there could be a substantial saving in the net revenue.
